I told you, I don't update much. I try to do it every sunday over on LJ, and so from now on I'll do that here too. for this first real post, I think I'll explain my family dynamics and about some friends, so that when I just mention people, you're not sitting around wondering who those people are :p
I have two brothers (three, if you count the in-law) and one sister. Aly is 27, the oldest of the four of us. Jared is 24, I (cassie) am 21 and Kevin is 18. My sister's husband is Brandon, and he's 28. Aly and Brandon are (well ok, Aly :p) four months pregnant with a baby boy. they don't know what they're going to name him yet, but I'll definitely be blaring that all over here and LJ when I do find out, so. yes.
my parents are Carol and Phil, not that that matters. I never really refer to my parents by their first names :p my mother has three sisters and a brother. Dennis, Sharon, Judy and Mary. my mother is the second youngest, between Judy and Mary. obviously :p my father had two brothers, Robert and Arthur. my uncle Art died about a year ago, which is just a guestimate, because I'm horrible with dates and judging the passage of time. :) Robert is marreid to Robin and has five children, Ryan, Benjamin, Gabriel, Michael and Renee. Arthur was married to Carolyn and has two biological children, twins, Jennifer and Arthur III (we call him Little Art :p). Carolyn had two sons before she married my uncle, but as I understand it, he considered them his kids as well. Michael and David.
back to my mother's family; Mary married Sean and had two kids, Owen, 7 and Quinn, 3. my aunt Sharon married Darrel (I think) Barnette, so I've always known him as Uncle Barney :D Dennis and Judy were also married at one point, but I was either too young, or not born yet when they got divorced. so I don't remember.
those are the people on either side of my family that I'm close to, and so might talk about from time to time. my mother's mother is still alive, my Grandma Betty. and my father's father is still alive, my Grandpa...Ed? He is Arthur Edward Young. my uncle was Jr, my cousin being the third, as I said. but I've met that grandfather once, and I don't actually know what they called him, Art or Ed. so. yea. I see my grandma at least once a week, unless she's in Florida (she lives there six months out of the year, I think). I see my grandpa never. my dad doesn't have a great relationship with his father, never really did. so neither do we. and we're ok with that.
ok. Friends. my bestest is Erin, who is hyperactivegirl over on LJ. I've known her since freshman year of high school, 2002. she goes to school in Nebraska, so I don't see her much. recently she admitted to battling with severe depression for the last year and a half or so, maybe longer, so is on medical leave from school for the rest of this semester. I assume she's going back in Fall, but I'm not sure of that. so, she's back a little earlier from school and I get to see her more now, so that's good :D
Alex is the next on the list, boredinwisc over on LJ. there are maybe three entries on that account. he made it around the time I started my LJ account, and really only keeps it now to be able to see my updates :p I've known him since...kindergarten? maybe 1st grade. we didn't actually start hanging out with each other until junior year of high school though, which is why he's second. I'm really only slightly closer to erin than I am to alex.
Alisha and Sherrick I'm going to combine, because I really don't see either of them very much, for different reasons. Sherrick goes to school with Erin in Nebby (what I call Nebraska), it's a big theatre college, and they're both theatre majors. Alisha is here in town with me, but...I don't know. we just don't see each other much. our friendship was kind of a fluke to begin with. we had a class together freshman year of college. I don't talk much in class and tend to ignore everyone around me. I don't like being here, I don't intend to prolong my experience any longer than necessary. but she talked to me one day in class, and then I saw her in the Union one day. I looked at her, looked away, realized that I knew her, and waved a little. she immediately asked me if I wanted to stay and hang out with her and her friend Bob. that became a bit of a ritual thing and soon I was spending all my time with Alisha and Bob. Alisha and I dated most of the summer after freshman year of college, but that didn't work out.
Sherrick and I met in freshman year of high school as well, but didn't get close until junior. I don't know what it is about us, but we can go months not seeing each other, not even talking over IM or FB or w/e, and we're still good. he and erin fight A LOT, but he and I...we always come back just as close as the last time we saw each other. Sherrick has a girlfriend, Ana. Alisha also has a girlfriend, Beccky. I love Ana. I don't love Beccky.
other people I might mention on here...Andrew. "met" him in freshman year of high school and I use the airquotes because I went to high school with him. I don't know that we were ever actually introduced during HS. we became friends summer after senior year :p Brecghan, an ex-boyfriend. we started dating in sixth grade, broke up seventh, dated in eighth, broke up in eighth. didn't talk for most of high school and then got back together the final time end of senior year and broke AGAIN, when he went into the army in June that summer. I spent that summer with Andrew, Alex and Brecghan, which is kind of why I'm friends with Andrew at all and why I still see Brecghan sometimes. Andrew is going to school in Whitewater, and Brecghan is married with a kid. yea.
I might talk about Alex's uncle Kevin and their friend Zach. Zach has a wife, Christi (I still don't know how to spell her name :p). there's a girl I went to HS with, Sarah. she's actually one of Sherrick's best friends. we didn't talk much, I only recently kind of started hanging out with her because we both saw SyFy's mini-series Alice, and fell in love with the actor who plays Hatter, Andrew-Lee Potts, and so both wanted to watch his other show, Primeval. so she's getting them with her Netflix account, and we watch them. we're only through the first season. she wanted to get into her classes groove, and then we'll see how we're going to continue :D
hm...Jesse. another ex-boyfriend. also Erin's ex-bf :p we started hanging out ...it would've been my sophomore year of college, if I hadn't dropped out/taken time off/...whatever you'd like to call it. I think it would be dropped out if I didn't plan to go back, but I do plan to go back so...taking time off. we got close, we dated, it didn't work, we broke up. we're still really good friends though, so that's good. Bryan, yet another ex-bf (I have a lot of those :p). met him in HS, we dated in HS, we remained friends after dating, and drifter afer HS. he didn't stay for senior year, so I didn't really see him ever. he recently texted me, or probably FB'd me and then I gave him my number, so then he texted me. we don't see each other a lot, because I think he still has feelings for me, even after all these years. but he's a cool guy and I don't mind hanging out with him.
that seems to be it. there are probably more, but I'll just have to explain those as I go :p this was a long-ass post. I think I shall do my weekly update post with LJ next, so stay tuned for that little ditty. :p
